Forgot the photos

I am so sorry.  I meant to publish the photos this morning since I had a great sitting day yesterday.  IT had a lot of interruptions (husband, laundry, cats, meals, etc) but I racked up a fair amount of stitching time for once.

You can just scroll further down for some of the before photos if I forget to post them them.  These photos combine Maynia and the SAL.

First of all I have not found the "perfect" alphabet for Descending Order but I have narrowed it down somewhat.

Here goes in no particular order.

2020 Mystery Sampler
Two motif to the far right belong to May

2020 mystery overall as of 31 May 2020

Acorn Sampler as of 4 May
note the border

as of 30 May 2020
the borders have their acorns and flowers
more of the satin stitch inner border
you can also see the mistake
the hanging acorns on right are 1 stitch below the left
(also the middle leaves)
the reversed squirrels was on purpose
it's staying the way it is.

This is the last photo I found on Victorian heart
dated 5 May 2020

Here is it as of 30 May 2020
This is nearly done
To stretch it tight, it also went a little wonky
that will straighten out later.

it already need to be updated.

We are staying healthy but not normal.
We don't venture out much in order to be safe.
Besides some stitching I have read 19 book since the 1st of March
and gotten a great deal of genealogy done.

Take care of yourself.

SAL time again

It is SAL Sunday and time to check in on all those wonderful stitchers:

As for me.  It's been a weird three weeks - definitely some stitching but just not what I expected.

SAL update

The SAL update is a bit late in the day.  Hopefully folks will look the day after as well.   Here goes - not the greatest Sal, actually quite slow.

The main piece - Descending Order
stays the same.  I still have not found a good alphabet that works.

Meanwhile

St. Sylvestre
goes on, slowly though due to stitch Maynia

2020 Mystery Sampler
this is Jan-Apr finished.
I have not started the May portion yet.

Acorn
Making progress

Walk the Beach
IT has made quite a bit of progress
however I need to decide to keep or redo the brown wave the words
Turns out there was a major error in the printing
The light colored beige in the checkboard and the brown
the symbols were reversed on the chart
I just found out this past week.
All because I found another error which I reported.
redo the waves or not, let me know

Tomorrow (monday) I will go back to posting Maynia
which for me is working on WIPs.  I actually have one finish so far
and another about to happen.  Some I want to keep working on, working on , etc
After all, my idea was to clean up some of my WIPs.

Meanwhile check out the rest of the SAL group.
Welcome back to Helen

Maynia update days 1-4, photo heavy

It's been busy here and warm and freezing.  Winter has come back.  I admit I am tired of cold weather - and I mean in the 20's and 30's.

May 1 - Walk the Beach.

the start of May 1

May 1 end of day

I found out the next day that the two symbols in the brown/beige blockwork is reversed
Which also means the "wave" thru Nothing and Walk are in the wrong color.
Not sure what I will do next about it.
Luckily I stitched on fabric instead of the silk gauze..
This is a brand new release and it bugs me.

May  2 brought
The Stars of Merlin

This was the start - a number of years ago.
I'm pretty sure that I was irritated with the directions.
3 strands on 32 ct - it looked awful
bulky and like a big blob.
This was all ripped out and I started again.

It wasn't much better - turns out my fabric was actually 30 ct
didn't look so good with 1 strand
Now I am looking for a new fabric 32 or 36 ct.

same fabric, re-stitched
still blah.

May 3rd
A Stitch in Time

Cover sheet

start on Mat 3rd, 2020

end of day  May 3rd
Look carefully - there is a large amount of white background finished
Some green blocks on the left side
a few scattered green stitches

May 4
The Acorn

start

the end of the day  May 4th, 2020
note the two squirrels have been enlarged
the corners have their acorns
blackwork acorns are a the end of the alphabet, etc

And so goes the first 4 days.
More later

 Going a bit backwards here

And here, back even more.

Friday, May 1, 2020

Today is the start of May Mania for the stitching community.  It started (as best I know) as a new start for every day of May.  But it has morphed into many new versions.  My version includes WIPs. Here's my version (and hopefully I can keep to it):

I will work (i.e. stitch) at least one hour a day on a WIP.  A different one each day until I run out of WIPs or run out of days in May.

I will post before and after photos but not necessarily each day.  With the outside weather attempting to warm up, there is work to be done.  Earlier this week it was low 70's and sunny then suddenly switched to mid 40' and rainy and dreary ,etc.  It's May and you never know what the weather is bringing.
