Photo heavy

Now it's time to show you what I worked on during the month of October.  Please note none have been finished finished.  Most have been fully stitched but not all.

I',starting with a double dipper piece.  This lovely Angel was my piece for the Christmas ornament SAL and the PS SAL.  Beneath is the photo from the leaflet.

.  I did leave off the ivy.  I may go back an add it but if I do, it will be green (dark) instead of black.   I am still debating also if I want to do the outlining.  I'm really leaning towards not doing it.   As you can see, the leaflet pieces were trimmed in black.  I'm thinking of gold finishing instead.  Black doesn't sit well with me for Christmas.  I can justify the black robes because perhaps she was a Benedictine nun before becoming a nun an their robes are black.

Next up is my Americana piece for the Americana SAL.  Sorry the chart photo is so blurry.

Since the photo was taken, I have finished the A and the i.  Still more to go.  This one has a deadline of the end of November.

This lovely occupied most of my time.  It is the tribal pumpkin.  I forgot to take a photo of the leaflet.  I think what really slowed me down is that this is being stitched over one.  I used one color of DMC.  While looking thru my orange/rsut over-dyeds, I found this and knew it was perfect.  I am going to try to get this done before Thanksgiving so we can enjoy it for at least one holiday.  I really love the pattern.  Not thrilled with the printing of the chart - no overlaps from page to page.

Lastly my piece from the September PS SAL.  I actually finished him the first week of October so I was really late with him.  This is one of the annual Santa but I forgot to look up which year.  He is stitched on 26 count, over one.

The boot on the far side of the photo is the next Santa that I am working on.  He is also one of the annual Santa group.  Hopefully I will make more progress during the month.

Lastly is my major project.  I was going to wait until winter was here to get started but then someone posted their finished piece on facebook.  That spurned me on.  Currently this is a class with Shining Needle Society (SNS).   Church of the Savior of Spilled Blood.  (not sure if that is the proper title, it doesn't look right).  Anyhow, here is my progress so far.  All the basting is done - note I usually don't baste but it does help with this piece.

Here is a photo of someone's completed piece.  I have a lot of work ahead of me.  It should keep me inside  during a cold winter.

All of the pieces look great! I agree with the black during Christmas thing. I love the colors you chose for tribal pumpkin.

Lovely stitching on everything and wow, that last piece is a doozy! I've had the same issue with the WW tribal charts.
