Today I thought I would share a few "posters" with you.
I am grateful that I have had the chance to share over the last month.

Enjoy!

Don't forget  "Giving Tuesday"

Today  (Nov 29),  I am thankful that I have the opportunity to volunteer for various groups.   I enjoy sharing my talents and helping various organizations.  It also keeps me busy and keeps me from being bored.

On Monday I learned that a friend has decided to volunteer for a group that we both belong to (but in different chapters).  My enthusiasm for my position (at a state level) encouraged her to volunteer at the chapter level.  I hope she enjoys her opportunity to volunteer and make a difference.

Volunteering is a gift of your time.

I want to share that last night I fixed dinner for two of my grandchildren.  We each ate something different from the refrig but everything was wonderful and it was all leftovers, except for the apples.

Today (Nov 28) I am grateful that none of my kids ever had to endure a school shooting.  I pray that their kids never have to endure one as well.

Today (Nov 27) I am grateful for leftovers from Thanksgiving.  When I fixed the thanksgiving dinner, I always made enough to have leftovers.  We (the family) always loved the turkey leftovers and it set a good example for the rest of the year for the kids.  At least two of my kids have learned to eat their leftovers as adults.  I will admit that we rarely had dessert leftovers when the kids lived at home.

Today (Nov 26) I am grateful for unknown  blessings.  Somewhere along the line I'm sure I have gotten a blessing (or two or more) that I took for granted.   So now I am acknowledging that they were there and will probably be again.

Today (nov 25) I am grateful for all of the military, the police, the firemen, the EMS crews, doctors, nurses and anyone who works crazy schedules and may or may not get holidays to spend with their family.  They are there for us if something were to happen and that is appreciated.

Today (Nov 24) I am grateful for Thanksgiving. I appreciate and love the history behind the holiday. A day for remembering and getting together with family and friends. Either the meal is turkey or not, it's togetherness that matters and remembering those who can't be with the larger group. Happy Thanksgiving!

Today (Nov 23) I am grateful for my ability to stitch and the skills that I have developed and learned over the years as well as the ability to create my own designs as well the opportunity to buy other designs.  I love to stitch and I stitch nearly every day.  Stitching has also lead me to friends that I am thankful for, and so much more.

Today (Nov 22) I am glad for the skills that I have learned that allow me to do genealogy.   It is something that I really enjoy and I lost track of time working on it earlier today.

Today (Nov 21) I am grateful for my online groups - yahoo, facebook, blogs, etc.   Though I have not met face-to-face the majority of the people, I have found wonderful friends who share my varied interests.

Sunday, November 20, 2016

Today (Nov 20) I am grateful for the various face-to-face groups that I belong to.  I belong to genealogy and lineage groups as well as a few stitching groups.  This is two of my interests.  I haven't found a book club yet but I', sure that I will eventually.  It is always nice to spend time with people who share your interests.

Today (Nov 19) I am grateful for my cats.  We currently have two, Max and Hunter.  Samson left us a few years ago.  Max seemed lost and so this summer we found another rescue.  Now I'm not sure that Max is "speaking" to us.  However, Hunter has made Max start exercising (running) again.  Rather like when Max first came to live with us an his relationship with Samson.

We love them both dearly and they bring joy into our life.

Today (Nov 18) I am grateful for an education and all my teachers.  Someone, somehow, somewhere in my early years, I got hooked on reading.  I know it had to be a teacher somewhere.  I can remember that in 4th grade I was already reading at the high school level.  The more books the better.  I'm still that way - The last few years I have averaged roughly a minimum of 80 books a year.  So now that is my yearly goal.

Thursday, November 17, 2016

Today (Nov 17) I am grateful for the bright spot of sunshine and warmth.  It's nearly 70 degrees.  All my windows are open and the house is getting a good airing out today.  There is a major snow storm heading our direction - it's going to be well above us so we will be seeing rain instead of the snow.  So I am grateful for a day of "Indian Summer".

Sorry to miss a few days.

Today (Nov 16) I am grateful to have a computer and be able to use it fairly well.

I very rarely, if ever comply with FB posts asking you to copy and paste into your status, but I thought on the eve of Veterans' day, it was very apropos. I saw a FB post that said my oath to defend the Constitution never expires, this got me thinking about the oath I took many years ago. Then a friend (who was Navy and her husband was Marine and I was Army) posted a challenge to copy and paste the statement below.
I will reaffirm my oath and my belief in the greatness of this country and faith that our democratic process will persevere.
Sharla reaffirmed her oath, and I will follow her example:

I, Jacqueline Herron Murawski do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely and without mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter.

I took this oath on 28 December .
I challenge my military friends to renew their own oaths.
Happy Veteran's day!

Oorah! On November 10, the Marine Corps celebrates its 241st birthday!

I am grateful for what the Marines have done for our Nation over the past 241 years.  My Dad was a Marine during World War II.

PS

I didn't get on the computer at all yesterday.

I was grateful for the election to be over!  It may be a wonderful function of our democratic process but it still rug out too long.

Vote

voting: US 2016 Presidential Election background. Voting poster. US presidential voting. Vector background. Illustration

Nov 8 - Today I am grateful to live in a country that has free elections for our leadership.  Doesn't matter how I feel about the respective candidates, it matters that I can make my own choice and have a say.  It matters that every eligible citizen can make their own choice as well.

Nov 7 -  Today I am grateful for my nieces and nephew (hubby's brother's kids) - Cathy, Patti, Mike and Christine.  The kids fit in age wise with ours.  In some ways they grew up together (but in two states) - hubby and I always made sure the cousins saw each other every year despite the distance.  They still "talk" to each other, occasionally visit, etc.  It has been a joy to see each of them get married and have them at our kids' weddings.  They all have their own kids too now and it is a delight to see the 2nd generation of cousins growing up.

Today I am grateful  for my parents.  Today (Nov 6) is their anniversary.  However, neither of them are here to celebrate, so it up to me to remember and I am glad that I had the set of them.  They gave me a good life.  It was unusual (to others) to be a "military brat" but normal to me.  I got to see and do things I may not have otherwise experienced.  My parents always encouraged me, especially my Dad.  He kept telling me I could do what I wanted to do. He always was ahead of the rest of the world.  Thanks dad, thanks Mom.

Today I am grateful for my three children - Beth, Matt, and Becky. They have all grown into wonderful people to know and spend time with. They have gone in 3 different directions, each fitting their own personalities, and yet we are all still family.  I love them all so much!

Today I am grateful for my grandchildren.  All 4 of them.  I love them dearly and always will.  I'm also grateful that two of my children decided to have children, therefore letting me have grandchildren.

November - a time for being thankful

It is also a month for being thankful.

Today I am thankful for Doctors and the availability of medicines.
