Kreinik news

Kreinik posted this on their blog this morning.

Factory temporarily closed

For the safety of our staff, we have decided to close the Kreinik factory until February 5, 2021. Unfortunately we have several crew members out with COVID, and several waiting for test results. We want to make sure everyone stays healthy and returns healthy.

No threads will be made or shipped until we get back on February 5. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience during these unprecedented times.

Stay safe and healthy!

 Check this out:

Projects inspired by Inauguration 2021 - Nimble Needle (nimbleneedlenj.com)

At the bottom is a pattern and threads inspired by Bernie Sanders mittens.

By the way, I have bought things from the Nimble Needle for years - both in person and online.  Great shop.

This past week-end I attempted to stitch 24 hours in a 3 day period.  I managed somewhere between 20-22 hours.  A little crazy around out house this past week-end.  This was part of the #24hourcrossstitch group on facebook.  A few times a year, we attempt a real 24 hours.  BUt there's more fun too.  Check them out.

Anyhow now for the before and after photos of the two projects I chose to work on.

This is Ice Castle by Mill Hill.
I started it New Years Day.
Goal is to have it finished on or before January 31
then I move on to another "small" piece for February.

This is Pandemic by Long Dog Samplers
To the left is page 1 which is complete
right side is page 2 - still in progress
I started this on 3 January
It is my large project for 2021.
Believe it or not, the fabric is a light green.

Back to other things.
Keep stitching!

Last week-end I did the Hermit stitch week-end and didn't post the done photos.  One of them finally showed up today.  Really weird!  Anyhow how here are the starts and finishes.

at the start

at the end
I can see a difference
the dark midnight sky (at the top)
and
Stitches across the bottom

Klimt start

Klimt end
Not a huge difference
a few more blocks and more border

Pandemic start

Pandemic end
Guess where I spent a lot of time
You can't see it but the fabric is a light green
Not my favorite (most greens are not)
but I had it on hand
It's 36 count
and I had a whole yard and it worked.
It's not so ugly with the black.
I considered a dark green color but it didn't work.

And so was my Hermit week-end
I stitched for 24 hours  ( I kept track)

This coming week-end I have a 24 hour challenge
stitch on anything for 24 hours
either straight stitching
or getting some sleep.
I'm for getting sleep - I don't get enough now anyhow.

Stitch On.!

 ref: the SAL

It came to my attention that my links didn't work yesterday.  You need to see everyone's wonderful work.  So, I am trying again and hope it works.

It's SAL day.  And there is progress.

This was Dec 2020
only the bottom half, sorry.
Most everyone voted for the "orange" perle cotton on the left.

And here is today.
The bottom right is almost done.
The border is mostly done.
No perle cotton in the proper size or color was available.
Instead 4 strands of floss, two of DMC 919 and two of 920
getting close to the finish line.

Sorry this is late in the day.
Here's why.

It was very inductive to a lazy day
and I took a long nap instead of stitching and posting.

Enjoy everyone else's stitching.

International Hermit and Stitch Weekend

This weekend is the IHSW.   I hope to get a lot of stitching in for a change and definitely enough for a decent post on Monday.  I also have a SAL report this Sunday (my every three week report on the project I chose until it is complete).  It's getting near the end.

meanwhile

And let the stitching begin !!!!!

Wednesday, January 13, 2021

I've been busy with doing running around for my husband.  Still waiting to get him an appt to get a vaccine for Covid.  I've been the the virtual waiting room for over 3 hours now, just to register for the appointment..  It seems his age will qualify him instead of his medical condition.  I'll take any reason to get him qualified for the shot but it really seems to me, age alone shouldn't qualifying him.  Oh well.

Meanwhile back to a little humor.  The first pertains to hubby some days, sometime the second one as well.

Friday, January 8, 2021

Thought I would do an update after 7 days of stitching(from the 1st to thru the 7th) though technically it is only 6 days of stitching and one non-stitchy day.   Whatever, it's an update.

And that's it.
The only two projects
that I have worked on in the first week of January.

Enjoy your week-end

Always seem to be those who think
they know you better than you

Glad I don't know many of them and I can try to avoid
those I do know which Covid makes easier.

Doesn't work for me
but  more to come

Tuesday, January 5, 2021

It is that time of year.

Sunday, January 3, 2021

Hard to believe it is the 3rd already.  A bit of stitching has been going on.  Two new starts from the bag.

First up is Ice Castle - a Mill Hill goodie.

Not much of a start.
Separating all the blues seem to take forever....

And the biggie now

365 by 429 stitches

My teeny start.
36 count linen

and some fun stuff

Have a great week.
