Happy Memorial Day!
I hope everyone is enjoying good weather for a change and finding the day relaxing.
I have several generations of ancestors, right down to my my mom and dad, who have served in the military and fought in wars. The line also includes myself and my son. I hope all of you can take a few minutes to remember the miltary and say extra prayers or good wishes for them - not just this week-end but anytime.
I love a bumper sticker that a friend of mine has on her vehicle:
If you can read this, thank a teacher
If it's in English, thank a soldier.

new project
Last week I started a new project. It's the Boo CLub by Lizzie Kate. Here's the progress so far. It is really working up quickly.
I got the idea from one of the other Hoosier Stitchers (thanks Marie). I got the bell pull fabric from another Hoosier Stitcher, who co-owns one of my favorite shops - Fancy Works in Bloomington, IN. Liz told me that the fabric was from Wichelt. Woven Checks, 24 count, 8.3" wide. Item #MH38/83/1819. You can reach Liz at:

Not much new here. I've been doing more reading and genealogy than stitching the last few days. But tomorrow is a stitch-in for the Hoosier Stitchers. I plan on going and relaxing and stitching away. The stitch-ins are always an enjoyable time.
Someone asked about the photo of the piece I had posted on Wednesday. It's called Diamond in the Rough. I designed it and taught it at CATS (Creative Arts and Textiles) shows. I always thought of it as a fun piece and a good way to learn some different canvas stitches. Also adaptable to almost any color scheme.

new photos
I have been meaning to update my stitching with photos but time keeps slipping by. So here are some new photos.
ANG offers a Stitch-of-the Month (SOTM) on their website. For 2011, Ro Pace is doing the stitches. January started with the outline, then we have been adding a different stitch each month. This is mine thru May's stitch. My overdyed is Williamsburg (waterlilies by Caron Collection). I am stitching on a light blue Congress Cloth.
If you are not familiar with ANG, then check out the website. http://www.needlepoint.org/index.php
Definitely check out the previous years of SOTM!
This is a sneak preview of a new piece that I have created. Not much to see but then that's why it's called a sneak peek.

My progress as of Monday on Sea Opal. This is the project taught by Ro Pace at my ANG Chapter - White River - retreat at the end of March.
