Today (Nov 18) I am grateful for an education and all my teachers. Someone, somehow, somewhere in my early years, I got hooked on reading. I know it had to be a teacher somewhere. I can remember that in 4th grade I was already reading at the high school level. The more books the better. I'm still that way - The last few years I have averaged roughly a minimum of 80 books a year. So now that is my yearly goal.

Today (Nov 17) I am grateful for the bright spot of sunshine and warmth. It's nearly 70 degrees. All my windows are open and the house is getting a good airing out today. There is a major snow storm heading our direction - it's going to be well above us so we will be seeing rain instead of the snow. So I am grateful for a day of "Indian Summer".

I very rarely, if ever comply with FB posts asking you to copy and paste into your status, but I thought on the eve of Veterans' day, it was very apropos. I saw a FB post that said my oath to defend the Constitution never expires, this got me thinking about the oath I took many years ago. Then a friend (who was Navy and her husband was Marine and I was Army) posted a challenge to copy and paste the statement below.
I will reaffirm my oath and my belief in the greatness of this country and faith that our democratic process will persevere.
Sharla reaffirmed her oath, and I will follow her example:
I, Jacqueline Herron Murawski do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely and without mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter.
I took this oath on 28 December .
I challenge my military friends to renew their own oaths.
Happy Veteran's day!

Oorah! On November 10, the Marine Corps celebrates its 241st birthday!
I am grateful for what the Marines have done for our Nation over the past 241 years. My Dad was a Marine during World War II.
PS
I didn't get on the computer at all yesterday.
I was grateful for the election to be over! It may be a wonderful function of our democratic process but it still rug out too long.

Vote

Nov 8 - Today I am grateful to live in a country that has free elections for our leadership. Doesn't matter how I feel about the respective candidates, it matters that I can make my own choice and have a say. It matters that every eligible citizen can make their own choice as well.
