 SAL again - 1st of 2023

I have been doing some "test" stitching to see what kept my interest.

I decided on An Open Heart by the Drawn Thread.

It's beautiful (to me) sampler
lots of different stitches

the scissor points are pointing to where I am right now

And here is a clear photo of where I am

the middle band has all the speciality stitches
next is a whitework border around everything
on the outside is a blackwork border
completed in a medium to light mauve

you can even see my basting stitches to keep me straight
and to count correctly

Please check out the rest of the stitchers

SAL a week late

Here is my SAL posting.  Yes, I know it is a week late and I have been sick all week as well as attending a dear friend's funeral - totally not expected.  Not the week I had planned on at all.

Pandemic is done (except for framing which will wait til after the holidays)

Dec 2

Time for more fun stuff.     23 days to Christmas!

Thursday, December 1, 2022

Pandemic is finished.  Nov 30th.  However, it needs cleaning up.  a few spills here and there.  It badly needs ironing - curled up edge, lots of rumples.  Give me a few days before unveiling.

Meanwhile

It's December already!  Time for the season.

It was in the 20's last night.
Early for where I live

Enjoy the season
More to come

 SAL time

Last time

please note there are gaps in the outside borders
on both the left and right side
close to the center but to the right has 2 empty triangles
a partial design
plus there are other areas I cleaned up or if you prefer
finished up

today

                                                                 All the borders are done
the triangles are done
the dragons are in (next to the triangles) and misc
other odds and ends

so for this one, the area above the reindeer got cleaned up, even though the phots won't load

ok now these two won go side by side but you get the idea

All around the piece (except the date)  I did clean up work to make sure things were finished.
I stil haven't figured out where I am putting initials.

CHeck out the other stitchers as well

 Have a great Thanksgiving!

Some how yesterday's post has disappeared. So I will repeat myself.

Nov 5- I was thankful for a rainy day -good for the grass and a chance to play catch-up on my genealogy.

Nov 6 -thankful for another day of Fall weather and sunshine.

Friday, November 4, 2022

Some people write volumes during November for their writing group(s).  But November is also for showing gratitude.  I'm a bit behind already but here goes.

Nov 1 - I was grateful to place flags on Veterans' graves with my local DAR chapter.

Nov 2 - I am grateful for a solid roof on my house - many in Florida do not.
Nov 3 - I am grateful for my pets (2 cats).  Several friends have lost theirs in the past month

Nov 4 - I am grateful for leaves to rake.  Not actually my favorite chore but it means I have trees to shade the yard in the summer and to provide beautiful foliage in the Fall.
