I just found out that Marilyn, the founder of Stoney Creek Designs, died early this month. 

I remember meeting her when I used to teach out at Rockome Gardens in Arcola, IL.

Not a word about the company or stitching.  She stitched beautifully.

 "I'm late, so terribly late"

Yesterday I was supposed to post my Sal update and instead I was out out of the house most of the day and ended up in bed really early because I was so tired.   I had not anticipated being away from the house all day or the lack of sleep from the night before.

Here is the update:  Not much done and I have run out of black #5 perle cotton.  TIme to head out to get more thread.

The photo above is for the wrong month but at least you know what I am talking about.

I have not had a chance to post this past Monday's stitching for the end of the July week-end 

until now.  The previous post has the before photo and here are the after phoits.

 

Stitching this past week-end has really helped bring back the stitchy bug.  It has 

been a bit beleagured lately. 

 I've decided to join the July Hermit Stitch-in.  It appears I may be stuck inside with rainy days which is always a good time to stitch.  So here is the start of my piece for the week-end.

The upper right is a bit bare.  I alsmost have the changes worked out.

from there I have been a bit all over the place.

But it is coming along.

I had a target to be complete by the end of July

but I found I needed to do other things as well

so the plan needs to be revised.

while I attended a virtual conference most of the week.

Pandemic

 I waited from the week-end to show an update on Pandemic becasue I had a stopping point to show off.

I just finished 2 cards of Splendor silk - 12 ply silk, 8 yards - when using 1 ply to stitch with, it was 96 yards of silk. 

My original goal was to be finished by the end of July.

Revised goal, the end of December.

Meanwhile I'm also doing a medium sized piece

and have a small piece for waiting rooms, etc.

Time to go stitch more!

SAL

 It's time again for the SAL.   I had picked this piece partially becasue I prefer to work on black on the summer and lots of natural light.  During the last three weeks, it has rained a fair amount, been as humid as could be without raining and the cicadas.  Yes I have gotten some work done on the piece, it has been a royal pain.  The directions are still terrible and thre threads lsited are no the ones in the package, etc.

Here it is as of today

                        I finally got the black outlines done.  Each of them has been ripped out at least twice if not more times.  Nothing on the left matches on the right, etc.  There is no photo to go by.  However I will just do what I can to "fill in" with the coloring that I like.  This piece could have been so much better with someone else writitng the directions and doing the charting.

Meanwhile - enjoy the stitching of everyone else.
